Bansko is one of the largest ski resorts in Bulgaria, offers visitors excellent conditions for skiing in modern ski facilities and cabin lift in conjunction with old bulgarian architecture and delicious Bulgarian dishes.

Location

Bansko is situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountains 927 meters above sea level. Remote is 56 km from Blagoevgrad, 145 km from Plovdiv and 150 km from Sofia. Near the town began Pirin National Park. In Bansko Glazne river flows. The climate is mountainous and allows the snow cover from December to April, the alpine character of Pirin mountain provides excellent conditions for professional and amateur skiing.

The cuisine of Bansko

Original and varied cuisine is famous Bansko in Bulgaria with stewed dishes, unique homemade sausages and appetizers. The music of Bansko

Lifts and ski facilities in Bansko

25 km fast and convenient lifts available to guests of Bansko winter. Modern cable car connects the town with the area Banderishka meadow, with an intermediate station of Chalin valog. The capacity of the booth is 2400 people per hour.
To the ski area in the alpine part of the mountain is reached by gondola and an asphalt road from Bansko to Vihren. The upper lift station is the only one of its kind in the country half-pipe facility.




Bansko was selected to host the World Cup races in Alpine skiing at several resorts such as dignity is ordered to Val d'Isere (France), Lake Louise (Canada), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany) and Sochi (Russia), which also hosted in two races for men and women in 2012.
